Polyamide and elastane is the same blend used in good activewear — it holds its shape, it recovers after stretching, and it doesn't go baggy at the straps after a month.

Which size?

Measure your band — snug around your ribs, directly under your bust — and your fullest point across the bust. Match both to the chart in our size section.

Between two sizes? Go up. This is a snug, smoothing fit by design, so the smaller of two sizes is the one people end up exchanging. A size up still shapes — it just doesn't remind you it's there at 4pm.

Long torso? The body runs about an inch longer than a standard tank, which is usually enough. Larger chest? The cups are deeper than most built-in bras and the straps are wide, so it holds more than a shelf-bra tank does.

Can I really wear it instead of a bra?

That's what it's for. It isn't a layering vest with a shelf of elastic inside — it has shaped, padded cups and wide straps, and it's built to be the only thing you put on.

Honest about where it sits: this is light-to-medium support. For everyday wear, work, errands, travel and being at home, most people wear nothing else. For running or high-impact training you'll still want a proper sports bra, and we'd rather tell you that now.

Does the padding shift or fall out?

No — it's sewn in, not inserted. This is the thing that ruins most built-in bra tanks: loose pads that fold in half in the wash and arrive out of the dryer as a crumpled disc you have to flatten with your fingers.

These are stitched into the cup. They can't migrate, can't flip, and can't be pulled out.

Wash cold and air dry and the cups keep their shape for the life of the tank.

Will it show under white?

The body is double-layered, so it's more opaque than a single-jersey tank, and there's no underwire outline, no hook-and-eye bump across the back and no strap ridges.

Under white or pale clothing, a nude or light colour disappears better than a dark one — the same rule as any bra. If white tops are most of your wardrobe, order the lightest colourway.

Does it roll up?

It shouldn't, and the extra length is why. A tank that ends at your natural waist rides up when you reach or sit; this one carries past it, so there's enough fabric below the point where rolling starts.

If yours does ride up, it's almost always a size too small. Email us and we'll exchange it free.

How do I wash it?
  • Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle
  • Air dry. A tumble dryer is what kills elastane — the straps go slack and the cups lose their shape
  • No fabric softener. It coats the fibres and the fabric stops recovering
  • No bleach, no ironing

Treated that way it holds its shape far longer than a bra does. This is why most people end up with three or four.

reach-back
the second you're home.

Six things you
stop doing.

Not features. The small daily frictions that go away once there's no bra in the equation.

Comfortable all day in the Avulea tank
✓
The reach-back at the front door
Gone, because there's nothing to unhook. You're already comfortable when you walk in.
✓
Standing at the drawer deciding
Padded or wireless, which one doesn't show under this top, which one isn't in the wash. Now you pick a tank and you're dressed.
✓
Changing the moment you get home
There's nothing softer to change into, because you're already in it.
✓
The band mark across your ribs
No back band, so nothing to leave a line at the end of a long day.
✓
Hooking straps back onto your shoulders
Wide straps spread the weight and stay put, instead of sliding and digging in.
✓
Flattening the pad that folded in the wash
The padding is stitched into the cup, not slotted in. It can't fold, shift or fall out.

I have been wearing this tank for two months and the other night I realized I get into bed and there is nothing to take off. I am already comfortable.

Why it holds up
when shelf-bra tanks don't.

You've probably tried one of those. Flat elastic shelf, two loose pads that fold in the wash, straps that slide. Four things here are built differently.

Detail of the Avulea built-in bra construction 1 2 3 4
1
Wide straps, not spaghetti
They spread the weight across your shoulder instead of concentrating it in a line. This is why it's still comfortable at 6pm and why they don't keep slipping off.
2
Shaped cups with sewn-in padding
Deeper than a shelf, and the padding is stitched into the cup rather than slotted into a pocket. It can't fold, flip or come out in the wash — which is the single most common complaint about every other tank like this.
3
No underwire, no back band
Nothing pressing under your arm and no elastic gripping your ribs. The support comes from the cut and the straps, so there's no line to see or feel.
4
Double-layer body, an inch longer
More opaque under white, smooth across the back, and long enough that it doesn't roll up when you reach or sit down.

What we changed — and why it feels different

Instead of forcing support into two straps and a band, we spread it across the entire tank. No concentrated pressure points. No hardware. Nothing that digs, pinches or rolls.

This isn't shapewear and it isn't compression. It's "supported enough" — gently held and smoothly covered, without any part of it fighting your body.
1
Distributed support layer
Gentle, even hold across the whole torso instead of one narrow band doing all the work.
2
Padding that stays put
Built-in cups that don't shift or bunch when you wear them. Removable when you want to wash them separately.
3
Zero pressure-point design
No underwire, no hooks. Wide shoulder coverage spreads the weight so nothing digs in.
4
Warm, smoothing outer layer
Sits flat for a clean line under clothes, with a soft warm feel on cooler days.

One decision,
at seven in the morning.

After that you don't think about it again. Not when you're layering something over it, not when you sit down, not when you get home.

7:00 am
You pick a tank
That's the whole decision. No drawer, no deciding which bra goes under which top.
9:00 am
Dressed, out the door
Under a blouse, a jumper, a blazer, or on its own. No strap showing, no wire outline, no band across the back.
2:00 pm
Still not thinking about it
Wide straps haven't slipped. Nothing is digging in. This is the part that surprises people.
6:00 pm
Home — and nothing to change into
No reach-back, no "let me just get comfortable". You already are.
11:00 pm
Bed
And the thing most people mention first: there's nothing to take off.
Wearing the Avulea tank through the day

I used to stand at my dresser every morning trying to figure out which bra worked with what I was wearing. Now I grab a tank and I am dressed. That is the whole decision.
